Harvesting: For the first harvest, cut the main stem just above its second set of leaves. Continue to harvest stems, cutting near ground level above a set of leaves. This will encourage branching and keep new growth coming the entire season. Harvesting in this manner can produce as much as 15-24 cups of basil in a season from a single plant.
