We learned early on as flower farmers how valuable a good pair of gloves and a hat can be to survive daily chores in the garden. I have been using the same hat for 6 years now and a pair of gloves actual lasted for 2-3 growing seasons. You will find that you almost forget that you have these gloves on. No job, even thinning little seedlings requires glove removal. The secret is in the fit. Most folks wear a size smaller than they wear in any other glove; you want them to fit like a surgeon’s glove. Throw them in the washing machine with the jeans to wash and hang to dry. The pith hat is another life saver. Most folks don’t understand that protecting your head from the sun lowers your body temperature by 20 or more degrees. This is the same hat that most mailmen wear!
